1st Dental Visit - 646 Gresham Road  |  Atlanta GA 30316 | Office Phone: 404-212-9060

The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD) recommends that your child visits the dentist by his/her 1st birthday to establish a dental home.  You can help make the first visit to the dentist enjoyable and positive by talking with your child ahead of time with excitement. Try to refrain from saying anything negative about dental treatment in front of your child.  We will use this appointment to get you acquainted with our office and discuss with you recommendations for your child’s future dental care.

Parents are encouraged to come into the treatment area during the first visit to view our facilities and to personally meet Dr. Jordan and her staff.  We hope that parents will become comfortable enough to allow their child to enter the treatment area by themselves on subsequent visits. This, in turn, allows the child to establish an uninterrupted relationship with Dr. Jordan and staff.

On occasion, however, it may be determined that a child will respond with better behavior if a parent is present. If a parent or guardian is requested to accompany their child into the treatment area, we ask that they act as a silent and supportive observer only. It is important for us to establish cooperation and trust directly with each patient to ensure future success. All children not being seen must remain in the waiting area with a supervising adult.
